Follow along as we build our next new custom home,

This new project is located in the Ross Trails subdivision of Ross Ohio. It’s a 2440 square-foot brick ranch with walkout. The basement dig is complete and the footers have recently been poured.

Perforated 6″ drain tile is then installed inside and outside of the footers to allow ground water to move away from the house.

The Lexington

Greg and Todd Burnett built our custom home, and from start to finish they were accessible, informative, and easy to work with, the end result being a home we absolutely love.  They gave us quality advice in the planning process, they handled all of the county permitting issues, and then they proceeded to build our home exactly as they said they would.  We could not be happier with both the process and the end result.  In addition, as well as being completely professional, they are also great guys to work with.  We would recommend the Burnett brothers to anyone interested in building their own dream home.

The Lexington,

A new custom home with old country charm,

There was a wonderful old country home existing on this lot prior to our build. The homeowners decided it would be more cost effective to build new then to renovate the old home. The fire department was then called in for a controlled burn, debris hauled away and  the lot prepped for new construction.

Our clients were interested in a new custom home that still had that country charm and fit the location. Many different plans and ideas were merged into the design of the Lexington. Details such as board and batten siding, a cupopa installed over the garage, a country kitchen sink along with many other items all added to this country feel. We were even able to incorporate a couple antique interior doors into the project.

Ross Trails

This rural subdivision comprises a total of 365 acres and is scheduled to be completely built over the next 5 years.  Sitting on the old Ross Trails Girl Scout Camp, Ross Trails takes up the original 311 acre camp and has been expanded with surrounding land over the years to make up the subdivision you see today. The rolling hills and mature, forest-like landscaping make this a truly beautiful place to call home.

Sections one through four are almost complete and have only taken up about 100 acres. This leaves plenty of space for you and your family! Section 4 lots are available for purchase now and future lots are already being planned out. Like Dry Run Estates has been, this land is in an excellent community and should be a great investment.

This home is pretty much surrounded by porches. Our homeowners decided to upgrade to stamped concrete. The overall cost is substantially higher but the finished product is amazing.

Ross High School earns Blue Ribbon,

ross

ROSS TWP. —

Ross High School is one of four Southwest Ohio high schools to be designated as a 2015 National Blue Ribbon Schools by the U.S. Department of Education.

Ross is the only Butler County school district to earn the honor this year.

The National Blue Ribbon Schools program recognizes elementary, middle and high schools that have worked towards significantly closing the achievement gap or have students who continually perform at very high levels.

“This award is a testament not only to the outstanding individuals who work with our children each day, but also to the parents and other community members who support our schools in many ways,” said Ross Superintendent Greg Young in a press release. “The Ross School District is blessed to have hard working students, committed staff members, exemplary administrators, and a supportive community.”

Ross High School has been consistently ranked at the highest level on the Ohio Department of Education’s State Report Card and the school’s most recent graduation rate of 98.6 percent marked four consecutive years that the graduation rate was above 97 percent, according to the district.

Of the 335 public and private schools recognized by Department of Education on Monday as National Blue Ribbon Schools, 14 are located in Ohio.

Other Southwest Ohio schools to earn the distinction include:

  • Goshen High School (Clermont County)
  • Wyoming Middle School (Hamilton County)
  • Lynchburg-Clay Elementary School (Highland County)

Representatives from each school will travel to Washington, D.C., for a recognition ceremony on Nov. 9 and 10 held by Department of Education.
